Odd that unplugging everything eventually resolved tyour problem. In my case the first time when system would not boot up my friend thought monitor died.

One of the solder points may be not OK, maybe just one of the connectors inside the monitor. Could also be a problem with cable or VGA plug, but it's rather unlikely. Try hitting the monitor from the top (not too hard, and not using any tools ^_^, see if anything changes - a blink, or so).

I have had funky issues with this particular monitor when it wasn't grounded. Try that first Ground in the cabinet between the monitor chassis and the game the power connector was cut off prior to me, so I grounded the game to the power strip that I have it connected to. Didn't seem to make a difference. Hmmmp odd.

Found the problem. After 'disabling' everything it showed regarding nvidia, I enabled them one at a time after doing a right click on a video file until I hit the culprit. The "Play on My" ---> Analog monitor part of the shell menu is what was cuasing the monitor to blink off before showing the menu.

I went on to explain that the proper way to dust a monitor(or TV for that matter) is to used compressed air. But "Robert's" (nekervis..etc.) monitor problem is most definately related to improper grounding. Whether it is in the electrical system or the monitor itself, He needs to isolate the problem.

Do you have a monitor the size of a whiteboard? If you use good, modern coding style (not old 5-deep nested tables) then you don't need to care too much about obsessive indent balancing, .... Now this is no problem for the odd 5px here and there, but in general em units should be your starting point, not pixels.
